Dr. Mity Myhr is a Professor of History and Associate Dean of the School of Behavioral and Social Sciences at St. Edward's University. She specializes in European and World History, with a focus on Early Modern religious women, The Reformation, and Texas religious history. She teaches History and Freshman Studies courses, emphasizing study abroad programs, having led trips to France three times. Dr. Myhr is co-authoring Holy Cross in Texas, updating historical narratives of the Congregation of Holy Cross. Her research includes the 17th-century Ursuline convent in Bordeaux, published in Renaissance and Reformation.
Education: Ph.D. (1999), M.A. (1993), and B.A. (1989) in History from The University of Texas at Austin and Millsaps College. She speaks French fluently and has been at St. Edward's University since 2002. Dr. Myhr actively engages with the Holy Cross Institute, leading pilgrimages and faculty study groups focused on Blessed Basil Moreau's legacy.
