معرفی
Anna Mitraki is a Professor of Biomaterials at the Department of Materials Science and Technology, University of Crete. She leads the Natural Biomaterials Lab, focusing on translating structural knowledge of natural fibrous proteins into bio-nano-material applications through interdisciplinary collaborations (e.g., laser science).
Education
- Habilitation, Université Joseph Fourier, Grenoble, France (2003)
- Post-Doctoral, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, U.S.A. (1987-1991)
- PhD Biochemistry-Enzymology, Université Paris-Sud, France (1986)
- B.S. Chemistry, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece (1981)
Her research integrates biochemical and structural methodologies to engineer fibrous biomaterials, self-assembling peptides, and protein systems. Primary interests include protein folding mechanisms and the design of functional bionanotechnologies derived from biological templates.
She co-authored the textbook Plenty of Room for Biology at the Bottom: An Introduction to Bionanotechnology and contributed to the MIT Faculty Newsletter's Festschrift for Jonathan King.
