Mitra Saeedi is a Senior Lecturer at the University of East London (UEL), affiliated with the Royal Docks School of Business and Law and the Fintech, Data Analysis and Financial Economics Department. She holds a PhD in Financial Economics from the University Putra Malaysia, an MBA in Finance, MA in Art Studies, BA in Music, and BSc in Pure Mathematics. Her interdisciplinary expertise bridges finance, technology, and the arts.
Her research focuses on financial economics, corporate finance, and the impact of emerging technologies like AI, machine learning, and blockchain on finance. Recent work includes studies on green finance frameworks, Bitcoin price dynamics, and machine learning applications in pandemic contexts. She is currently the Education and Experience Lead for the Business Management, Entrepreneurship, and Finance Department at UEL.
Mitra has supervised over 50 master's dissertations and 2 PhDs, with 3 ongoing PhD students in Fintech. She teaches modules such as International Finance, Financial Economics, and Risk Management in Banking. Her leadership roles include module leader, programme leader, and project leader, alongside contributions to curriculum development and faculty training. She is affiliated with the Centre of FinTech and the Centre of Innovation Management and Enterprise (CIME).
