Mishel Ghassibe

Mishel Ghassibe is a tenure-track Junior Researcher (Assistant Professor) at CREi and an Affiliated Professor at the Barcelona School of Economics (BSE) since 2022. He serves as an academic consultant at the European Central Bank and academic visitor at the Bank of England, having previously held a chief expert position at Ukraine's National Bank of Ukraine.

His research centers on macroeconomic implications of production networks, firm heterogeneity, and goods market frictions for monetary and fiscal policy transmission. Ghassibe develops theoretical frameworks showing how input-output linkages amplify policy effects and create state-dependent multipliers, with empirical validation using sectoral and firm-level data. His work reveals critical distinctions between demand-driven and supply-driven recessions in determining policy effectiveness.

Publication trends demonstrate consistent focus on network-mediated transmission mechanisms, with recent work extending to pricing cascades during business cycles and intertemporal pass-through of future cost expectations.
