Misha Elena Kilmer is the William Walker Professor of Mathematics at Tufts University, with a secondary appointment in the Department of Computer Science. She co-leads the Tufts TRIPODS Institute and serves as Deputy Director of ICERM at Brown University (since 2021). As a Tufts Data Intensive Studies Center (DISC) Faculty Fellow since 2021, she contributes to interdisciplinary research initiatives.

Kilmer specializes in numerical linear/multilinear algebra, scientific computing, and image reconstruction techniques. Her work bridges computational mathematics with applications in engineering and data science, supported by grants from NSF, NIH, IARPA, DARPA, and IBM.

A prominent editor in computational mathematics, she currently leads the Research Spotlights section of SIAM Review and serves as Associate Editor for La Matematica. Previously, she held editorial roles at SIAM Journal on Scientific Computing, SIAM Journal on Matrix Analysis and Applications, and SIAM Undergraduate Research Online.
