Mirta Roncagalli is a PhD candidate in Hispanic Studies and a Sessional Lecturer of Spanish and Italian at the University of British Columbia (UBC). She is affiliated with the Department of French, Hispanic and Italian Studies within the Faculty of Arts. Her research focuses on the intersection of politics and ethics in 21st-century Spanish essays, employing a posthumanist framework to critique neoliberal systems and explore democratic regeneration.
- Education: BA and MA from Ca' Foscari University of Venice (Italy), MA from University of Huelva (Spain), with additional study/research at the University of Bristol (UK), University of Zaragoza (Spain), and Georgia State University (USA).
Her research interests include Spanish and Italian contemporary literature, political essays, migration studies (particularly Italian migration to Argentina), moral philosophy, and representations of time and space. She also investigates figures of speech in sign languages.
Publications include a 2023 article in Forum Italicum and contributions to the Bridge to Argentina digital humanities project. She is supervised by Dr. María Soledad Fernández Utrera in her doctoral research.
