Mirna Troncoso Sawyer is an Associate Professor in the Department of Health Sciences at California State University, Northridge (CSUN). She holds a PhD in Community Health Sciences from UCLA’s Fielding School of Public Health and will direct the CSUN Institute for Community Health and Wellbeing beginning Spring 2024. Her research focuses include food insecurity, nutrition-related health disparities, and mindfulness-based stress reduction.

She will be guiding the newly established CSUN Institute for Community Health and Wellbeing, focusing on interdisciplinary approaches to improve health outcomes.
