Mirjam Bokhorst

Dr. Mirjam Bokhorst is a researcher affiliated with the Faculty of Theology at Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg. She holds a double PhD (2020) from Georg-August-University Göttingen and Rijksuniversiteit Groningen. Her research focuses on Old Testament studies, textual analysis, and apocalyptic literature, with specializations in Deutero-Isaiah, Enoch traditions, and Dead Sea Scrolls. Since October 2024, she has been a research associate at the Niedersächsische Akademie der Wissenschaften zu Göttingen (Lower Saxony Academy of Sciences).

Her expertise includes textual criticism, temple conceptions in ancient texts, and intertextual readings of biblical and apocryphal works. Her 2021 monograph explores 1 Enoch’s temple imagery, while her 2022 article analyzes the Animal Apocalypse through Pentateuchal intertextuality.
