Mirjam Augstein

Mirjam Augstein is a Professor at the Research Center Hagenberg, part of the Upper Austria University of Applied Sciences, specializing in Human-Computer Interaction and Information & Communications Technology. She holds a Habilitation in Human-Computer Interaction from Johannes Kepler University Linz (2024), a PhD in Computer Science (2011), and a Dipl.-Ing. in Engineering for Computer-Based Learning (2006).

Her research focuses on collaborative systems, hybrid collaboration spaces, user modeling, and AI ethics. She leads projects like HYCOS (Hybrid Collaboration Spaces) and HCAI (Human-Centered Artificial Intelligence), exploring interdisciplinary applications of AI in workplaces and crisis management.
