Miriam Goldby is Professor of Shipping, Insurance and Commercial Law at Queen Mary University of London's Centre for Commercial Law Studies, where she directs research activities. She developed the International Shipping Law LLM program and chaired the Insurance, Shipping and Aviation Law Institute.
Research expertise covers electronic alternatives to transport documents, insurance regulation, digital trade transformation, and anti-money laundering frameworks. Key contributions include legislative work on electronic transferable records with UNCITRAL and Law Commission of England & Wales.
Publications address legal challenges in paperless trade, analyzing electronic alternatives to bills of lading and payment instruments. Recent book examines governance frameworks for digital trade transformation.
