معرفی
Miriam Freedman is a Professor of Chemistry at The Pennsylvania State University and a member of the Institute of Energy and the Environment (IEE). Her research focuses on heterogeneous environmental processes, particularly aerosol interactions with radiation, clouds, and climate. She investigates phase transitions in aerosols, ice nucleation mechanisms, and the climatic impacts of microplastics and pollutants.
- Affiliations: IEE Fellow, Department of Chemistry.
- Key Projects: Impact of aerosol chemistry on influenza stability, nanoparticle morphology in indoor air, and plant-insect interactions under pollutants.
Her work bridges atmospheric chemistry and environmental science, contributing to understanding how aerosols influence weather and climate. Notable achievements include the 2021 Early Career Award in Experimental Physical Chemistry and recognition as an IEE Fellow. Her research has been featured in prominent outlets like Nature, Quantum Magazine, and Science.
