Miriam Beauchamp

Miriam Beauchamp is a Full Professor in the Department of Psychology at the Université de Montréal, affiliated with the Faculty of Arts and Sciences. She holds the Canada Research Chair in Paediatric Traumatic Brain Injury and is a member of the Royal Society of Canada’s College of New Scholars. Her research focuses on developmental cognitive and social brain processes in infants, children, and adolescents, with a clinical emphasis on pediatric traumatic brain injury (TBI) and its cognitive, behavioral, and neural consequences. She leads the ABCs Neurodevelopmental Neuropsychology Lab and collaborates with institutions like CHU Sainte-Justine.

**Research Interests:** Dr. Beauchamp explores how early brain injuries (e.g., concussions, prematurity) affect social cognition, executive functions, and long-term outcomes. Her lab develops standardized assessment tools and interventions for children with TBI. Techniques include neuroimaging (fMRI, DTI), eye-tracking, virtual reality, and biomarker analysis. Key areas include early TBI screening, longitudinal outcomes, and rehabilitation strategies.

**Grants & Projects:** She leads major initiatives like the Advancing Concussion Assessment in Pediatrics (A-CAP) study and the TransCENDENT interdisciplinary research network. Her work is funded by grants from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR), Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council (NSERC), and the Canada Research Chairs program.
