Miriam Amelung

Miriam Amelung (born 1984) is a Professor for Fundamentals of Design/Three-Dimensional Design at Burg Giebichenstein University of Art and Design Halle since April 1, 2023. Prior to this, she served as a visiting professor at the same institution during the 2022/23 winter semester. She studied product design at Kassel Art Academy (2004-2010) with specialization in furniture design and exhibition architecture.

Her design philosophy focuses on exploratory material research, developing application scenarios through spatial interaction analysis, and playful investigations of usage gestures. Her work bridges artistic experimentation with functional product development.

Miriam Amelung's studio received three major design awards:

• Gold Design Prize of the Federal Republic of Germany (2013)
• iF Design Concept Award (2014)
• ICONIC AWARD 'Best of Best' (2021)
