Mirella Clausi is a Researcher at the Department of Biological, Geological, and Environmental Sciences of the University of Catania, affiliated with the Animal Biology Section (Via Androne 81). Her academic career spans over three decades, with a Degree in Biological Sciences (1988, 110/110 cum laude) and a PhD in Evolutionary Biology (1994). She has held multiple roles, including Contract Researcher (1995–1996), Post-Doctoral Fellow (1997–1999), Fixed-Term Researcher (2001–2005), and Research Fellow (2006–2008), before becoming a Permanent Researcher in 2008 and a confirmed researcher at the department since 2011.
Research Focus: Mirella specializes in Nematology, with research lines encompassing Taxonomy and Systematics of Nematodes, their role in assessing Environmental Quality, biodiversity of Entomopathogenic Nematodes, and applications in Biological Control. She has also advanced methods for Soil Quality Indices, contributing to ecological and environmental studies.
