Miranda Redmond

Dr. Miranda Redmond is an Associate Professor in the Department of Environmental Science, Policy, and Management at the University of California, Berkeley, where she directs the Forest and Woodland Ecology Lab. Her research examines forest responses to climate change and disturbances, with emphasis on drought-induced mortality, regeneration dynamics, and silvicultural adaptations. She holds a Ph.D. in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from the University of Colorado Boulder.

Research focuses on:

• Climate impacts on tree demography and seed production
• Resilience-based forest management strategies
• Post-disturbance vegetation recovery
• Ecophysiological adaptations to environmental stress

Her work integrates field experiments, dendrochronology, and ecological modeling across western US forest ecosystems. Current projects investigate adaptive silviculture in pinyon-juniper woodlands, climate-driven range shifts, and functional trait responses to disturbance regimes.

Honors include the Warner College Dean's Award for Excellence (2020) and Campus Sustainability Leadership Award (2014). Dr. Redmond advises multiple graduate students and leads collaborative research with land management agencies to enhance forest resilience.
