Miranda Kedbäck serves as an Assistant Professor in Production Engineering at the University of Skövde, specifically within the School of Engineering Science. Her office is located in Room PA210K and she can be reached at miranda.kedback@his.se or by phone at 0500-448558. In addition to her research activities, she functions as an Education Course Coordinator, overseeing multiple bachelor's level courses in engineering with credit values ranging from 3 to 30 credits.
Dr. Kedbäck's research interests focus on the intersection of production engineering, digital transformation, and workplace learning models. Her work particularly examines how digital technologies are reshaping manufacturing processes while exploring opportunities to improve gender representation in the field. She investigates innovative educational approaches that bridge academic learning with practical workplace experience through trainee formats.
Her current research portfolio includes the Professional Trainee Skaraborg project (January 2023-September 2025), which aims to develop educational formats within existing technology and manufacturing programs where relevant components occur in workplace settings. She has also completed work on 'Gender Equity in the Manufacturing Industry: Exploring the Role of Digital Transformation,' which examined how digital transformation can promote gender equality in an industry where women remain underrepresented despite diversity strengthening innovation and sustainability.
Dr. Kedbäck's research is conducted within the Virtual Engineering environment at the university, which appears to be a significant research platform at the School of Engineering Science. Her work connects engineering education with practical industrial applications, particularly focusing on how digital transformation affects both production processes and workforce development.
