Miqdad Asaria

Miqdad Asaria is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Health Policy at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). He holds adjunct positions at the Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences in India and a visiting position at the University of York, UK. His research focuses on health economics, health inequalities, and health financing, particularly in India and the UK. He investigates the impacts of austerity policies on racial and socioeconomic health disparities, early interventions on life-course health equity, and unmet needs in healthcare funding formulas. His methodologies include health econometrics, micro-simulation modeling, and cost-effectiveness analysis.

Miqdad has held grants from The Health Foundation, MRC, and NIHR, and serves on advisory groups for government bodies and NGOs. His teaching includes courses on health economics in low- and middle-income countries, advanced health economics, and health equity in the context of climate change. His work bridges academic research with policy impact, aiming to address systemic health inequities through evidence-based interventions.
