Minna Lundgren

Minna Lundgren serves as Senior Lecturer in Sociology at Mid Sweden University's Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, based in Östersund. She is an integral member of the Risk and Crisis Research Centre (RCR) where she leads critical research on societal resilience. Her academic foundation includes a Doctor of Philosophy degree awarded in 2016 following her thesis on displacement experiences among Georgian youth.

Lundgren's research spans three core domains: risk communication in heterogeneous societies, crisis management during hybrid threats, and migration/displacement dynamics. Her work combines qualitative methodologies with experimental approaches in the RCR Simulation Lab, examining how diverse populations process risk information related to extreme weather, terrorism, and disinformation campaigns. Notable projects include the ongoing 'Humans, Measures and Resilience' initiative studying public response to hybrid threats, and the Ukraine-focused 'SAFE Ukraine' collaboration examining wartime communication since 2022.

Her publication trajectory reveals a strategic evolution from post-conflict displacement studies (2014-2016) toward contemporary risk communication challenges.
