معرفی
Minggang Fang is an Assistant Professor at UMass Chan Medical School, affiliated with the T.H. Chan School of Medicine and the NeuroNexus Institute. He holds a PhD in Philosophy from the University of British Columbia, following a BS in Agriculture from Huazhong Agricultural University and an MS in Science from Wuhan University. His research focuses on understanding the molecular basis of transcriptional dysregulation and epigenetic silencing in diseases, particularly cancer and neurodegenerative disorders like Fragile X Syndrome and Friedreich's Ataxia.
Key research areas include: 1) Epigenetic silencing mechanisms in oncogenesis, 2) Drug target identification for neurodegenerative diseases via RNAi and compound screens, and 3) Genomic instability pathways linked to tumor suppressors like CRTC2 and MEN1. His work has led to US patents for novel therapeutic approaches targeting FXS and FRDA.
Dr. Fang has received the Young Investigation Award from the National Ataxia Foundation (2019-2020). His research integrates cutting-edge tools like large-scale RNAi screens and functional genomics to uncover disease mechanisms and therapeutic targets. Collaborations with institutions like the NeuroNexus Institute highlight his interdisciplinary approach to biomedical research.
