Mimi Huang is a Senior Lecturer in the Humanities Department at Northumbria University, serving as PGR Lead and Research Group Lead for English Language and Linguistics. Her work bridges cognitive linguistics, narrative studies, and discourse analysis to explore communication in health, identity, and community contexts. She collaborates with public services and charities to enhance communication in public health and safety initiatives, including projects like the 2024 Banner Project on emergency responders' mental wellness and evaluations of the SafetyWorks! Centre's educational programs.
Qualifications include a PhD in Linguistics (2008) and Fellow status with the Higher Education Academy (FHEA). She supervises PhD students focusing on interdisciplinary topics such as narrative modulation, health communication, and linguistic dimensions of trauma in public service roles.
