Dr. Miltos Ladikas is a Researcher at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), working within the Institute for Technology Assessment and Systems Analysis (ITAS) in Berlin. He has been a research associate at ITAS since 2013 and leads the Research Group 'Sociotechnical Futures and Policies.' His professional journey spans multiple prestigious institutions including the Centre for Professional Ethics at the University of Central Lancashire, CESAGen at Lancaster University, and the European Academy for Research on the Consequences of Scientific and Technological Developments.
Ladikas holds a PhD in Social Psychology from the London School of Economics and Political Sciences, with a focus on public debates about biotechnology in the UK. His research interests center around technology assessment, global technology governance, ethics in science and technology, responsible research and innovation, and science and technology policy. He has supervised numerous doctoral dissertations on topics ranging from global ethics in nanotechnology to healthcare ethics in Africa and feminist debates in multicultural societies.
His recent publications demonstrate a consistent focus on global technology governance, ethics in research, and responsible innovation, with significant contributions to understanding technology assessment in international contexts. Ladikas has coordinated major projects including the European Commission's 'Global Ethics in Science and Technology' project, which compares ethical structures in science and technology across Europe, China, and India.
