Mili Paredes is a Lecturer in the Department of Hispanic Studies at Davidson College, teaching Spanish language courses from beginner to intermediate levels (SPA 101, 102, 201) and developing Spanish 265: Spanish for the Professions for Spring 2026. With over 25 years of teaching experience across Spain, Germany, Hungary, and the United States, she emphasizes diversity, intercultural understanding, and inclusive pedagogy.
Her educational background includes:
- M.A. in Philology from Universidad Complutense de Madrid
- M.A. in Pedagogy from Universidad de Cantabria
Her research focuses on Spanish pedagogy and language didactics, particularly Spanish for Specific Purposes (including Business and Professional contexts). She has authored educational materials for Ernst Klett Verlag and actively promotes innovative teaching practices through regional conferences.
Ms. Paredes serves as Co-Director of the Davidson Summer Teaching Internship in Spain and Co-Editor of the forthcoming White Paper on Spanish for Specific Purposes in U.S. Education (Fall 2025). She is a core organizer for the Encuentro Práctico de Español L2 en Carolina del Norte (EPENC) conferences, contributing to EPENC24 (2024), EPENC25 (2025), and EPENC26 (2026) with themes addressing inclusive classrooms, transformative learning, and AI-era challenges.
