Milentije Stefanovic

Professor Milentije Stefanović is a distinguished academic at the University of Kragujevac, Faculty of Engineering Sciences, where he has served as a Full Professor since 1995. Born in 1951 in Babushnitsa, he completed his academic journey at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Kragujevac, earning his diploma in 1974, Master's degree in 1978, and Doctoral degree in 1985. His career progression included positions as Assistant Trainee (1974), Assistant (1978), Assistant Professor (1985), Associate Professor (1990), and ultimately Full Professor (1995).

Prof. Stefanović's research primarily centers on metal forming technologies, with particular emphasis on deep drawing processes, tribological aspects of sheet metal forming, and the application of aluminum alloys in automotive manufacturing. His scholarly work bridges theoretical understanding with practical applications, often incorporating finite element analysis and physical modeling techniques. He has made significant contributions to understanding the influence of contact conditions, friction, and material properties on formability of sheet metals, with research spanning over three decades of consistent scholarly output.

His research trends demonstrate an evolution from fundamental studies of deep drawing tribology toward advanced applications in automotive manufacturing, with recent work focusing on variable contact conditions, ironing processes, and sustainable manufacturing technologies. Prof. Stefanović has been honored with multiple awards including the "Pavle Stanković" plaque and institutional recognitions from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Kragujevac and Banja Luka.
