Dr. Milena Marycz serves as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Functional Materials Engineering within the Faculty of Electronics, Telecommunications and Informatics at Gdańsk University of Technology. Her office is located in Building B, room 313 NE.
Research Focus: Dr. Marycz's work centers on biological air and waste treatment technologies, with emphasis on:
- Fungal biofiltration systems for hydrophobic volatile organic compound (VOC) removal
- Comparative analysis of biofilters versus biotrickling filters
- Anaerobic digestion applications in biorefineries and renewable energy production
- Sustainable solutions for circular bioeconomy and green engineering
Publication Trends: Her recent publications (2022-2025) demonstrate consistent advancement in biological air purification methods, particularly fungal-based VOC treatment systems. She has expanded research into dynamic anaerobic digestion for bioproduct optimization, publishing in high-impact journals including Trends in Biotechnology, Chemosphere, and Reviews in Environmental Science and Bio-Technology.
