Milagros Rosal

Milagros Rosal is a tenured Professor at UMass Chan Medical School, holding the Imoigele P. Aisiku, MD’97 Chair in Health Equity and Diversity. She serves as Inaugural Vice Provost for Health Equity and leads the Prevention Research Center at UMass Chan.

Her research focuses on community-based interventions, psychosocial determinants of cardiovascular disease, and implementation science to improve health equity, particularly for Latinx and Puerto Rican populations. She has led over 40 federally funded studies, including the PR-OUTLOOK trial and Proyecto Mamá for postpartum health.

Selected publications highlight her work on cardiometabolic risk, obesity prevention, pediatric asthma interventions, and social determinants of health. Her methodological expertise includes behavioral trials, cognitive interviewing, and resilience factors in marginalized communities.
