Mikkel Andreassen

Mikkel Andreassen is a Clinical Associate Professor at the Department of Clinical Medicine, University of Copenhagen, with a dual appointment at the Capital Region of Denmark. His work focuses on endocrinology, particularly pituitary disease, adrenal disease, and neuroendocrine tumours.

His research interests include growth hormone activity and cardiovascular disease, the relationship between growth hormone activity and male reproductive function, and current investigations into male reproductive function in patients with pituitary insufficiency. His work spans clinical research, patient care, and academic teaching within the field of endocrinology.

His recent publications demonstrate a strong focus on neuroendocrine tumors, acromegaly management, and hormone-related disorders. His work shows particular expertise in Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia, primary aldosteronism, and advanced therapeutic approaches for neuroendocrine tumors.

He serves as Principal Investigator for clinical trials including a phase 2 trial sponsored by MSD investigating Belzutifan for malignant pheochromocytoma and paragangliomas, and a phase 1b trial sponsored by Debiopharma for acromegalic patients. He is also the chair of 'Medicinrådet' for Endocrinology since 2024.

His professional activities include authoring the 4th edition of 'Medicine' textbook (chapter on Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia) and delivering lectures sponsored by pharmaceutical companies on topics unrelated to their products.
