Miki Ikuta is currently serving as an Assistant Professor at the Global Education Center, Waseda University, since April 2024. Previously, she held postdoctoral positions at the University of Windsor (Department of Psychology, 2023) and received JSPS fellowships (PD and DC2) for her work on second language processing.

- Exchange studies at University of the Sunshine Coast (2013-2014)
Her research focuses on second language acquisition, metaphor processing mechanisms, and cognitive aspects of bilingualism. Key methodologies include experimental psychology, corpus analysis, and computational modeling. She has published in journals like PLOS ONE and Metaphor and Symbol, while her presentations span international conferences on aphasia, cognitive psychology, and language education.
