Mikhal Dekel is a Distinguished Professor of English at The City College of New York (CCNY) and Director of the Rifkind Center for Humanities and the Arts. She held the 2021-2022 Stuart Z. Katz Professor of Humanities title. Her research focuses on autobiography, global immigrant literature, refugees, and class/culture dynamics. Her work bridges literary theory with historical memory, particularly exploring Polish Jewish experiences during the Holocaust.
