Mike Kennedy

Mike Kennedy is an Instructor II in the Department of Communication & Philosophy at Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU), where he has taught since 2010. He teaches public relations courses, Foundation of Civic Engagement in Interdisciplinary Studies, and master's-level marketing courses in the Lutgert College of Business. His professional background includes over 30 years in marketing and PR, including leadership roles at an international sales firm and his own marketing/PR consultancy.

Education: MBA from FGCU, BA in Public Relations & Journalism from Utica College, and an Associate's in Radio & Television Production from Herkimer County Community College.

Research & Expertise: Focuses on applied communication strategies, marketing practices, and civic engagement education. Combines industry experience with pedagogical approaches to business and communication instruction.

Community Engagement: Former executive board member of the Bonita Springs Area Chamber of Commerce, board member of Quest Educational Foundation, and trustee of CREW Land and Water Trust.
