Mikael Sandberg is an Associate Professor of Instruction, Associate Chair, and Undergraduate Program Director in the Department of Economics at the University of South Florida. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Florida and prior faculty roles at the University of Florida and Flagler College. His expertise lies in International Trade and the Economics of Globalization, with a strong focus on teaching and curriculum development.
Dr. Sandberg earned his B.S. and M.A. from the University of Central Florida and his Ph.D. from the University of Florida. His academic career has emphasized undergraduate education, having served as Undergraduate Coordinator at the University of Florida and currently leading the Undergraduate Program at USF.
His teaching portfolio spans courses such as Principles of Macroeconomics/Microeconomics, International Economics, Environmental Economics, and Quantitative Methods. He is recognized for his pedagogical excellence, having received multiple teaching awards and accolades. His research interests emphasize globalization's economic impacts and international trade policies, reflecting his commitment to bridging theory and practical applications.
