Mikael Ruotsi is an Associate Professor of Constitutional Law at the Department of Law, Uppsala University. He holds a Bachelor of Laws (2004) from Uppsala and an MSc in International Human Rights Law (2011) from Oxford. His career spans roles as a District Notary (2004-2006), Associate Lawyer (2006-2007), Chamber Prosecutor (2007-2012), and Rapporteur (2012-2020, 2020-2022). He completed his doctoral thesis at Uppsala (2015-2020) and joined the university as a faculty member in 2022.
