Mika Lauhde is the Global Vice-President for Cyber Security and Privacy at Huawei, concurrently serving as a Senior Fellow and Visiting Fellow at Maastricht University in the Netherlands. He is also a Fellow of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) in the United Kingdom. His career spans leadership roles in cybersecurity at major telecommunications firms (Nokia, Huawei) and extended tenures at European agencies including ENISA (11 years) and EUROPOL (8 years). He contributed to cryptographic policy through the European Commission Crypto Task Force at Leuven University.
Lauhde's research focuses on cybersecurity frameworks, data privacy regulations, and applied cryptography, with emphasis on telecommunications infrastructure and cross-border law enforcement coordination. His work bridges industry expertise and academic research in digital security.
