She also serves as Co-Director of the Center for Infrastructure, Energy and Space Testing (CIEST). Her research focuses on structural evaluation, construction materials testing, infrastructure aging, and failure prediction of materials. She holds a BS from the University of Illinois (2006), MS from Cornell University (2009), PhD from Northwestern University (2013), and completed a postdoc at MIT (2014).
- Education: BS (UIUC), MS (Cornell), PhD (Northwestern), Postdoc (MIT)
Her research interests include cementitious materials, micro-structure quantification, fracture mechanics, and construction material toxicity. She has received prestigious awards including the NSF Career Award (2021) and the RILEM's Gustavo Colonnetti Medalist (2020). Hubler is an Associate Editor for the Journal of Engineering Mechanics (ASCE) and active in professional organizations like the American Concrete Institute and RILEM.
Recent publications highlight work on nanoparticle injection for leak remediation, living building materials, and carbonation effects in well cement. Her work bridges experimental testing, numerical modeling, and sustainability in construction materials.
- Awards: University of Colorado Faculty Fellow (2022), Leonardo Da Vinci Award (2020)
As Co-Director of CIEST, she leads infrastructure testing initiatives. Her advising focuses on graduate students in structural and materials engineering.
