Miho Otaki is a Doctoral Researcher in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Helsinki and a Visiting Scholar in the same department. Her research focuses on radiochemistry, nuclear chemistry, and environmental chemistry, with a strong emphasis on separation science and radioactive waste management.
Her work includes the development of novel materials like heterocyclic bistriazolyl phosphonate grafted zirconia/titania for actinide/lanthanide separation, Sb-doped ZrO2 for iodate removal, and studies on natural radioactivity in groundwater treatment residues. She has presented her findings at international conferences including ATALANTE 2024 and the 10th International Conference on Nuclear and Radiochemistry.
