Prof. Andrei Daniel Mihalca is a Professor in the Department of Parasitology and Parasitic Diseases at the University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine of Cluj-Napoca. He has served since 2012 as Vice-rector for International Relations and has held academic roles from Lecturer (2006) to Professor (2018). His research focuses on vector ecology, wildlife parasitology, and conservation medicine with over 180 peer-reviewed publications. He leads VectorNet’s Capacity Building initiative and chairs Guidelines for the Tropical Council for Companion Animal Parasites. Awards include the Grigore Antipa Prize (2018) and Traian Săvulescu Prize (2016). He coordinates major projects like the EurNegVec COST Action and advises EFSA, ECDC, and IAEA. His work spans sub-Saharan Africa, addressing parasitic diseases in dogs, cats, and wildlife.
