Miguel Jorge is a Senior Lecturer in Chemical and Process Engineering at the University of Strathclyde since 2020. He holds a PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Edinburgh (2003) and a Master's from the University of Porto (1998). His research focuses on molecular simulation techniques (e.g., Monte Carlo and Molecular Dynamics) to study adsorption, material synthesis, thermodynamics, and interfacial processes. He has published over 80 articles and serves as Regional Editor for Europe of Molecular Simulation. His professional roles include leadership in research policy organizations such as ANICT and ICoRSA.
Teaching responsibilities include Thermodynamics, Molecular Simulation in Chemical Engineering, and Project supervision at Strathclyde. He has received multiple teaching awards, including the 2015 Best Teacher in Engineering award. His current projects involve computational design of nanoporous materials for carbon capture and drug solubility prediction using machine learning.
