Miguel Gomes

Miguel Gomes is a Board of Trustees Distinguished Professor at the University of Connecticut and a Professor of Portuguese Language and Literature at the University of Coimbra. He holds a Ph.D. from SUNY at Stony Brook and a Licenciatura from Universidad Central de Venezuela.

His expertise lies in Modern Spanish-American Literature and Culture, with a focus on Latin American poetry, fiction, and essay writing across the 20th and 21st centuries. He has authored and edited numerous influential works, including El desengaño de la modernidad and La realidad y el valor estético, as well as co-edited anthologies of Venezuelan poetry and short stories.
