Dr. Michiel Köhne is an Assistant Professor in the Anthropology of Law at the Sociology of Development and Change department of Wageningen University & Research. His work focuses on how local communities engage in activism or legal strategies against powerful actors seeking access to natural resources. Key research areas include energy transitions, renewable energy opposition, land conflicts, and legal anthropology in Bolivia, Indonesia, Australia, and the Netherlands.

Research Interests:
