Dr. Michelle Taylor Skipper serves as a Clinical Professor in the Advanced Nursing Practice and Education department within East Carolina University's College of Nursing, directing both the Adult-Gerontology and Family Nurse Practitioner specialties of the DNP Program and North Carolina's exclusive Certificate Program in Healthcare Disaster and Emergency Management.
Her academic credentials include degrees from St. Andrews Presbyterian College, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Duke University, and the Gardner-Webb University School of Nursing.
Her expertise centers on healthcare disaster response, rural health systems, and international nursing education, demonstrated through two HRSA-funded grants developing interprofessional healthcare teams and sustained medical service in Nicaragua since 2003, including sustainable water filtration initiatives.
