Michele Heriford serves as Director of the Nurse Practitioner Program and Adjunct Faculty in the MSN program at Spring Arbor University. She holds a DNP in Strategic Leadership from Spring Arbor University (2022), an MSN in Adult Nurse Practitioner (2009), a BSN from University of Phoenix (2005), and an ADN from Lansing Community College (2001). Her clinical work focuses on Palliative Care and Hospice across inpatient, outpatient, home, and facility settings.
Research interests include nurse practitioner role transition methodologies and strategic leadership in nursing education. She oversees the NP program's development, emphasizing student growth into competent practitioners. Her doctoral project evaluated a Nurse Practitioner Role Transition Toolkit.
Teaching philosophy integrates faith-based perspectives, aligning with Spring Arbor's mission of 'Christ as the perspective for learning.' Active since 2016 as faculty and program director since 2017, she advocates for DNP-prepared nurses to enhance both patient care and professional standards.
