Michelle Gerrety is the Program Director at St. Elizabeth School of Nursing, part of the University of Saint Francis, where she has held leadership roles since her appointment as a nursing instructor in 1999. She became Director of the School of Nursing in August 2016 and Program Director of the University of Saint Francis Diploma-BSN Cooperative Nursing Program in May 2017.
Education:
- Doctor of Education with specialization in Teacher Leadership
- Master’s degree in Child & Adolescent Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing
Research Interests center on nursing education, child and adolescent psychiatric nursing, teacher leadership, and reducing mental health stigma. Her clinical experience in psychiatric settings has shaped her focus on integrating mental health advocacy into educational practices.
Awards and Recognition:
- Excellence in Mentorship Award (April 2018) from Sigma Theta Tau Delta Omicron Chapter
Professional Leadership: Gerrety serves as a Peer Evaluator for the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) and as a board member of the Tippecanoe County CASAs for Kids Fund Board of Directors since November 2017.
