Michelle Bruijn is affiliated with the Faculty of Law at an institution in the Netherlands, holding dual roles in the Empirical Legal Studies and Public Trust and Public Law departments. Her research focuses on judicial processes, administrative law, housing rights, drug policy, and legal technology. She leads the PROHOUSE project on eviction impact evaluation and contributed to the EVICT project analyzing eviction litigation via data science. She received the Ben Feringa Impact Award in 2022. Her work bridges legal theory and practice, addressing topics like cannabis market regulation and municipal authority implementation. She actively engages in academic activities, organizing conferences on tobacco law and human rights, and provides expert commentary on drug-related evictions and public order policies.
