Michelle Areyzaga

Michelle Areyzaga serves as Artist Faculty in Voice at the Theatre Conservatory within Roosevelt University's Chicago College of Performing Arts, teaching Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre and Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Theatre Studies programs.

Her artistic specialization focuses on vocal storytelling through classical art song and musical theatre repertoire, renowned for radiant soprano tone, crystalline diction, and emotional depth as highlighted by Chicago Tribune and Chicago Classical Review critics. She emphasizes interpretive authenticity in contemporary and traditional vocal works.

Notable recognition includes:

• American Prize in Vocal Performance (Friedrich & Virginia Schorr Memorial Awards)
• Musicians Club of Women grant (Fall 2020)

Areyzaga maintains an active performance career with upcoming engagements at the 2025 Ear Taxi Festival and Holland Symphony Orchestra's 2026 Mahler 4 concert, alongside her album "Were I With Thee" featuring contemporary art songs by Bernstein, Hoiby, and Gwyneth Walker.
