Michelle A. Bisbee

Michelle A. Bisbee is an Associate Professor in the Department of Theatre and Dance at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa, specializing in scenic and properties design. She holds an MFA in Scenic Design from the University of Arizona and a BFA in Technical Theatre from Kent State University. Her professional work includes collaborations with Hawaiʻi Opera Theatre, Cirque du Soleil, and various regional theaters.

Her research focuses on scenographic approaches to theatre design with emphasis on model building, scenic painting, props, and puppetry. She advocates for collaborative and inclusive creative processes in theatrical production.
