Michele Johnson

Michele Johnson is a Professor of Radiology and Biomedical Imaging and of Neurosurgery at Yale School of Medicine. She serves as the Director of Interventional Neuroradiology at Yale Medicine, specializing in treating aneurysms, strokes, and vascular malformations in conjunction with neurosurgery. Her work spans multiple departments and programs including Radiology & Biomedical Imaging, Vascular Surgery & Endovascular Therapy, Head and Neck Cancers Program, Headache & Facial Pain Center, and the Stroke Center.

Dr. Johnson completed her medical degree at Temple University in 1979, followed by residency at Temple University Hospital in 1983, and a fellowship at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in 1985. She has been board certified in Diagnostic Radiology by the American Board of Radiology since 1983.

Dr. Johnson's research focuses on Neuroradiology and Interventional Neuroradiology with particular interests in Head and Neck Neoplasms and the application of Artificial Intelligence in medical imaging. She has been actively involved in promoting diversity in radiology and has published extensively on bias in AI, machine learning applications in neuro-oncology, and improving fellowship program information accessibility. Her work demonstrates a strong commitment to both clinical excellence and educational innovation in radiology.
