Michele Forman is an Assistant Professor and Director of the Media Studies Program at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), within the Department of History, College of Arts and Sciences. Her research and teaching focus on film history, documentary production, environmental and health media, and cinematic representation of marginalized groups. She holds a B.A. from Harvard University (1993) and an M.A. from UAB (2009).

Forman’s career spans academia and film production. She co-founded UAB’s Media Studies Program in 2003 to bridge classroom learning with community-focused media projects.
