Michele Davila Goncalves is a Professor in the Department of World Languages and Cultures at Salem State University, where she has taught undergraduate and graduate courses since 2008. Her instructional portfolio includes Spanish language courses (Elementary to Advanced), Latin American literature, translation studies, Latinx immigration, and specialized seminars like the Senior Thesis course. She also teaches interdisciplinary English courses on Latinx impact and European literature.
Her research explores intersecting themes in:

- Feminist critique in detective fiction and poetry
- Representations of identity in Latinx/Brazilian cinema
- Narratives of migration, trauma, and cultural resistance
Her scholarly publications demonstrate consistent focus on gender, identity, and genre studies within Latin American contexts, with recent works examining digital-age noir fiction, feminist reimaginings of religious tropes, and spectral metaphors in testimonial literature. She maintains active conference participation, including keynote talks on multilingual pedagogy and Puerto Rican poetic traditions.
