Michel Guenet is a Professor at the Faculty of Planning (École d'urbanisme et d'architecture de paysage) of the University of Montreal. His research focuses on structural geography, urban morphology, strategic land use planning, geomatics, socio-spatial segregation, and gated communities, with case studies in Montreal, Puebla (Mexico), and Burg El-Arab (Egypt). He has co-led interdisciplinary projects analyzing gated communities as socio-spatial phenomena and their implications for sustainable urban development.
