Prof. dr hab. Michał Wierzchoń serves as Director of the Institute of Psychology and head of the Department of Developmental and Educational Psychology at Jagiellonian University. His research examines consciousness mechanisms, perceptual awareness, and metacognitive processes using experimental approaches.
Research focuses on conscious perception across sensory modalities, neural correlates of awareness, and methodological approaches in consciousness studies. Recent publications investigate visual perception judgments, signal processing techniques, and theoretical frameworks for consciousness research.
Major Awards:
- National Science Centre Award in Humanities and Social Sciences (2019)
- Andrzej Malewski Award from Polish Academy of Sciences (2014)
