Michał Pszczółkowski is a Professor at the Department of Art History and Theory, Academy of Fine Arts Gdańsk since 2019. His academic journey includes a Master's from Nicolaus Copernicus University (2005), a PhD in Art Sciences (2010), and habilitation from Gdańsk University of Technology (2018). Key professional contributions include the Exploseum project in Bydgoszcz (2008-2010), which transformed a historic explosives factory into a museum, earning multiple awards including the SYBILLA 2011 Museum Event of the Year. He is a Foundation for Polish Science scholarship recipient and serves as President of the Toruń Branch of the Association of Art Historians.
Research focuses on 20th-century architecture history, with notable publications like Modern Borderlands: Architecture in the Eastern Territories of the Second Polish Republic (1921-1939), awarded the Oskar Halecki Award (2017). His work explores interwar architecture, urban history, and heritage preservation across Poland and Eastern Europe. He publishes in journals such as Centropa and Kwartalnik Architektury i Urbanistyki.
